Diego Mansilla teaches advanced translation courses and is the Director of the Spanish/English Translation Certificate Program. Diego is a grader for the American Translators Association Certification Exam (English into Spanish). Diego has been a professional translator for over 20 years. He serves as a liaison between the Latin American and Iberian Studies Department and the New England Translators Association for the NETA Annual Conference.
Natasha Hakimi

Natasha Hakimi Zapata holds a Creative Writing M.F.A. from Boston University and both a B.A. in Spanish and a B.A. in English with a creative writing concentration from the University of California, Los Angeles. She has received several awards for her work as a journalist, including three Southern California Journalism Awards and two National Arts & Entertainment Journalism awards, as well as several other honors for her creative writing. She has worked for the renowned literary journal AGNI, Los Angeles Magazine, and the Webby Award-winning political journal Truthdig. In 2016, Literal Publishing released bilingual editions of her translations of Alicia Borinsky’s My Husband’s Woman and Liliana Lukin’s Theater of Operations.
Gerry Dunn

Gerry Dunn is a Spanish/English literary translator specializing in fiction, gender, art and immigration. His work has been published by the New Press, Columbia University Press, Amazon Crossing and Editorial RM, and in 2020 he received a PEN/Heim Grant and an English PEN Award for his translation of Lectura fácil by Cristina Morales, forthcoming as Easy Reading from Jonathan Cape/Random House in March 2022. He has an M.A. in Hispanic Language and Literature and a B.A. in English Literature, both from Boston University, and he teaches translation part-time at Lake Forest College and the University of Massachusetts Boston. Between literary projects, he takes on commercial translation jobs for a variety of clients, including museums and academic institutions. He also heads the FTrMP Project, an effort to make Spanish translations of vital migration paperwork available for free online. Pay Your Tuition:
Fees have not been set for the 2021-2022 academic year, but the total cost of the entire program is about $6100, including all fees, materials and exams. About half of the above total cost should be paid at the beginning of each semester. Just complete the attached form and check “Bill my account.” You will be billed when the payment is due (in October.)
You will be billed for the course(s) for which you’re registered. The Bursar’s Office uses eBills. You will receive an email to your university email account when your bill is ready to view. You will also be able to view and pay your bill on WISER, Student Financials, at any time once it is generated. For additional information regarding ebills, please see: Bursar/Ebill.
